Messy Church Advent Activities December 2020

Over the four Sundays of Advent, I made a nativity scene with Messy Church on zoom. This was held by Elizabeth and Mandi from All Saints Church. On the first Sunday we made the two angels, on the second Sunday we made the shepherds and the sheep, on the third Sunday we made the kings and the camels and on the final Sunday we made Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the donkey and the palm trees. With the help of my mum and dad, we made the stable. It was fun to make and I hope you like it too. I have also been doing my Junior Advent booklet that was sent to me by St George’s Church. Keep safe and well everyone.

Mandi and I collaborated to deliver Messy Church by zoom while we were on tier three lockdown which made face to face meeting impossible. A four week programme was designed to offer an advent programme, sharing prayers, a Bible story and personal experiences, and doing a craft activity over four weeks which built a nativity. We had a lot of discussion on the real meaning of Christmas and it was as promised by Messy, a multi-generational gathering and involvement piece of work , and very enjoyable too. Have a happy healthy and safe new year.
